Google is seeking a Principal Workspace Strategic Cloud Engineer to design and implement cloud enterprise solutions for the Public Sector. You'll leverage your expertise in coding and cloud technologies, including Google Workspace and Google Cloud. This role requires 8+ years of experience in DevOps and infrastructure automation.
You have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience, along with 8 years of experience automating infrastructure provisioning, DevOps, continuous integration, or delivery. Your coding skills span one or more general-purpose languages such as Python, Java, Go, C, or C++, and you possess a strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and software design. You have experience designing cloud enterprise solutions and supporting customer projects to completion, showcasing your ability to manage complex implementations.
You are familiar with the Google Workspace Admin Console, managing users, services, and security settings effectively. Your understanding of security protocols and data privacy ensures that you can maintain the security of the Google Workspace domain. You have a solid grasp of general cloud computing concepts and the Google Cloud ecosystem, enabling you to provision, manage, and secure user access while configuring Organizational Units (OUs). Your excellent skills in controlling and configuring core Google Workspace services like Gmail, Drive, and Calendar make you a valuable asset to any team.
Experience with customer-facing projects in the Public Sector is a plus, as is familiarity with project management methodologies. You are proactive in capturing new customer feature requests and interacting with product and engineering teams to scope delivery effectively. Your ability to provide subject matter expertise for Google Workspace pre-sales and delivery projects for high-priority customer engagements sets you apart.
As a Principal Workspace Strategic Cloud Engineer, you will play a crucial role in configuring and troubleshooting customer implementations, including networking, identity, security, and integrations. You will guide customers through their cloud journey, helping them transform and evolve their businesses using Google’s global network and software infrastructure. Your responsibilities will include collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project delivery and customer satisfaction.
You will engage with high-priority customer engagements, providing expert guidance and support throughout the project lifecycle. Your role will involve capturing customer feedback and feature requests, ensuring that the solutions you deliver meet their unique needs. You will also work closely with the Google Workspace product and engineering teams to influence product development based on customer insights.
