Verkada is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer to manage and optimize their infrastructure. You'll work with technologies like Python and AWS to improve automation and monitoring. This role requires 1-2 years of experience in a similar position.
You have a BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science or a similar technical field of study. With 1-2+ years of experience in a similar position, you are familiar with managing infrastructure and have a strong understanding of cloud services. You have experience in at least one scripting language, preferably Python, and are eager to adopt new tools and technologies to enhance infrastructure efficiency. You are detail-oriented and have a proactive approach to problem-solving, ensuring that systems remain operational and efficient.
Experience with major cloud platforms and familiarity with infrastructure automation tools will be beneficial. Knowledge of service mesh architectures and security best practices is a plus. You are a team player who enjoys collaborating with engineers from other teams to provide technical support and improve overall infrastructure performance.
As a Site Reliability Engineer at Verkada, you will be responsible for keeping the infrastructure up and running. You will improve infrastructure automation and define the infrastructure roadmap to ensure scalability and efficiency. Your role will involve providing technical support for engineers on other teams, helping them navigate infrastructure challenges and optimize their workflows. You will work on projects that include optimizing cluster cost efficiency, enforcing security requirements, and enhancing monitoring and alerting systems. You will also have the opportunity to adopt third-party tools or design your own solutions to improve the infrastructure.
