Job Description

Who you are

You have a Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent practical experience, along with at least 5 years of experience in program management within an engineering function or product area. Your background includes leading operations and strategy, demonstrating your ability to manage complex projects effectively. You are comfortable working with cross-functional teams and have a knack for problem-solving, ensuring that challenges are addressed comprehensively. Your communication skills allow you to articulate technical analyses and recommendations to both executives and engineers alike, making you a vital bridge between hardware engineering and global operations.

You thrive in environments where you can shape narratives and structure strategies, ensuring that innovation pipelines deliver measurable results. Your experience managing cross-team projects has equipped you with the skills to navigate the complexities of large-scale operations. You understand the importance of serviceability by design, ensuring that server products are optimized for manual intervention and future automation. You are driven by the impact of your work, focusing on transforming data center operations through new automation concepts and acceleration opportunities.

Desirable

While not required, experience in hardware design and automation deployment would be beneficial. Familiarity with data center environments and the challenges they present can further enhance your effectiveness in this role. A proactive approach to identifying risks and managing project schedules will set you apart as a candidate.

What you'll do

As a Senior Technical Program Manager at Google, you will lead high-impact projects that transform how our data centers operate. You will be responsible for driving technical in-depth searches to resolve hardware design blockers that affect automation deployment. Your role will involve leading the annual and quarterly planning processes, ensuring alignment between engineering and operations stakeholders. You will deliver executive communications and business reviews for VP-level audiences, providing visibility into automation solutions and infrastructure roadmaps. Your ability to manage project schedules and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners will be crucial to your success.

You will work closely with stakeholders to plan requirements and identify risks, ensuring that all aspects of the projects are well-coordinated. Your technical expertise will be essential in guiding teams through complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. You will shape the narrative around project goals and outcomes, ensuring that all team members are aligned and focused on delivering results.

What we offer

At Google, you will be part of a team that values innovation and collaboration. We encourage you to apply even if your experience doesn't match every requirement. You will have the opportunity to work on projects that have a significant impact on how our data centers operate, contributing to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of our operations. We offer a competitive salary and benefits package, along with a dynamic work environment that fosters growth and development.
