Nuro is hiring a Software Engineer for their Routing team to build and scale backend systems and onboard modules. You'll work with Java and Python, focusing on microservices and REST APIs. This position requires 2+ years of experience in server-side applications.
You have at least 2+ years of experience building and scaling real-time server-side applications — you've designed and implemented microservices that handle complex routing algorithms and understand the intricacies of road network graphs. Your technical excellence is complemented by a collaborative spirit, allowing you to work effectively with product, strategy, and operations teams to create innovative user experiences. You are proficient in programming languages such as Java and Python, and you have experience with containerization technologies like Docker. You thrive in environments that foster inclusion and psychological safety, and you are committed to continuous learning and improvement.
Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or GCP would be a plus, as would familiarity with monitoring and analytics infrastructure. If you have a background in autonomous vehicle technology or routing systems, we encourage you to apply even if your experience doesn't match every requirement.
As a Software Engineer on the Routing team, you will be responsible for building and scaling backend systems that ensure the Nuro Driver™ reaches its destinations safely and efficiently. You will continuously refine our routing engine to calculate more efficient routes and deliver highly accurate ETAs. Your work will involve optimizing our routing algorithms and managing scalable traffic for every journey, adapting as our business and geolocation expand. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to define our product strategy and roadmap, ensuring that our technology remains at the forefront of the industry.
You will also be involved in building monitoring and analytics infrastructure to track the performance of our routing systems. This includes optimizing our deployment pipeline to ensure smooth and efficient updates to our services. Your contributions will directly impact the user experience, making autonomy accessible to all.
