SpaceX is hiring a Propulsion Engineer for the Thermal & Fluid Analysis team to ensure optimal fluid conditions for the Starship program. You'll utilize engineering simulation software like MATLAB to improve vehicle performance and reliability. This role requires a Bachelor's degree in engineering and at least 1 year of relevant experience.
You hold a Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline and have at least 1 year of experience using engineering simulation software such as MATLAB. Your background may include student project team and internship experience, which has equipped you with the skills necessary for this role. You are eager to contribute to the Starship program and are motivated by the challenge of improving vehicle performance and reliability.
You have a strong understanding of thermal and fluid analysis, and you are passionate about pursuing performance and robustness improvements. As a Propulsion Engineer on the Starship Thermal & Fluids analysis team, you will be responsible for ensuring that fluid consumables are in the right place and at the right conditions for the Starship program. You will conduct per-mission analysis on attitude control systems, propellant conditions, and tank pressurization systems to maximize performance while maintaining robustness. Your role will involve automating workflows to reduce engineering investment in per-mission analysis, allowing for more efficient operations.
You will actively pursue performance and robustness improvements, seeking operational simplicity to reduce the burden on other groups at SpaceX. Your ability to produce quality documentation will be crucial in reducing miss-rates and improving overall efficiency. You will also review peer work to ensure high standards are maintained across the team.
