Staff Software Engineer, Google Hybrid Cloud Networking (Mandarin, English)

Who you are

You have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience, along with 8 years of experience in software development. Your background includes at least 3 years of experience with software design and architecture, and you can communicate fluently in both Mandarin and English to effectively partner with local clients and regional partners. You hold a Master's degree in a relevant technical field, which is a plus. You have experience in networking that spans one or more of the configuration, control, and data planes, and you are familiar with infrastructure technologies, particularly in developing large-scale distributed systems. You excel at developing solutions to ambiguous problems that have significant impact and possess the ability to quickly resolve customer-related issues.

What you'll do

In this role, you will be responsible for building Cloud Interconnect, which virtualizes the edge and backbone, allowing enterprise customers to connect their on-premises data centers and networks to Google Cloud Platform (GCP) at speeds of 100 and 10 Gb/s. This project is crucial for onboarding large enterprises to GCP, making it a high-impact initiative. You will also work on connecting smaller customers through partners and building ultra-low-latency interconnects to enable customers to utilize large file stores and databases operated by third parties, adjacent to Google data centers. Your work will involve managing complexity from physical networks and routers through cloud virtualization. You will drive key components of the cloud networking portfolio to enable the hybrid cloud technical roadmap and contribute to long-term architectural improvements. Additionally, you will advocate for and drive engineering and operational excellence, influencing cross-functional teams to deliver on ambitious goals.
