Amazon is hiring an Engineering Operations Technician to maintain mission-critical technology infrastructure. You'll work with electrical and mechanical systems to ensure 99.999% uptime. This position requires hands-on troubleshooting skills and knowledge of data center operations.
As an Engineering Operations Technician, you will be a critical guardian of technological infrastructure, ensuring seamless operations that power global digital experiences. You have a strong foundation in electrical and mechanical systems, with hands-on experience troubleshooting complex equipment. You possess a solid understanding of data center operations and the various systems that support them, including stand-by diesel generators, three-phase electrical systems, and cooling equipment. Your ability to work collaboratively with others and communicate effectively will be essential as you partner with software, hardware, and network engineers to maintain the infrastructure that supports AWS global services. You are detail-oriented and committed to ensuring that all systems operate at peak performance.
Experience with AWS infrastructure services or similar environments is a plus. Familiarity with troubleshooting techniques for electrical and mechanical systems will help you excel in this role. You are adaptable and willing to learn new technologies and processes as needed to support the evolving needs of the data center.
In this role, you will maintain, operate, and troubleshoot Data Center Operations' Mission Critical Facilities. This includes working with stand-by diesel generators and related fuel systems, as well as three-phase electrical systems such as switch gear, UPSs, PDUs, wet cell batteries, and associated systems. You will also be responsible for the operation of CRAC units, centrifugal chillers, cooling towers, air handlers, pumps, and motors. Your hands-on approach will be crucial in ensuring that all equipment functions optimally and that any issues are resolved quickly to minimize downtime.
You will collaborate closely with your team to monitor system performance and implement preventive maintenance strategies. Your role will involve conducting regular inspections and tests on equipment to ensure compliance with safety and operational standards. You will also document maintenance activities and contribute to the continuous improvement of operational processes.
