Technical Lead, Storage Software, Cloud Platforms and Infrastructure

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 8 years of experience in software development.
• 5 years of experience in testing, and launching software products.
• 3 years of experience with software design and architecture.
• Experience with storage software stack, SSD storage, Linux kernel, performance analysis and C++.

Preferred qualifications:

• Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
• 8 years of experience with data structures and algorithms.
• 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role with leading project teams and setting technical direction.
• 2 years of experience with working in a matrixed organization including cross-functional or cross-business projects.
• Experience with storage systems or devices including qualification, management and monitoring utilities, SSD firmware, and working with suppliers and manufacturers.

• Lead a small team of engineers to evaluate and introduce new Solid-State Drive (SSD) technologies to Google cloud infrastructure by developing the software, establishing monitoring, and enabling automated workflows in data centers worldwide. 
• Collaborate with internal customers to deliver storage solutions tailored to support a variety of use cases at Google, including AI/ML training/inference, low-latency network disk, large databases, distributed file systems, and search indexing.
• Establish partnership with leading SSD vendors and system manufacturers to define the hyperscaler-level requirements and execute the joint qualification to timely deliver the products with quality to the markets.
• Provide technical leadership to guide the team on making directional decisions. Offer mentorship for members on the team.
• Improve the overall quality and velocity of engineering practices by introducing tools, processes, revamp, and continuous advocate for good practices.
