Overview

SpaceX is seeking a Tooling Engineer for their Plastic Injection Molding team to develop and implement tooling and manufacturing processes. You'll work closely with materials engineering and require skills in AutoCAD and SolidWorks.

Who you are

You have a proven track record in tooling development, particularly in consumer electronics, and have experience working with both domestic and Asian suppliers. Your expertise includes tooling material selection and resin qualification, ensuring that you can deliver high-quality solutions efficiently. You possess a logical and disciplined approach to problem-solving, allowing you to evaluate and select the best technologies for various manufacturing processes. You are open-minded and willing to challenge traditional methods, always seeking innovative solutions that enhance production efficiency.

You have a strong background in plastic injection molding and understand the intricacies of integrating design, material, and process selection into a cohesive workflow. Your experience in high-volume production environments has equipped you with the skills necessary to manage complex projects and drive alignment across teams. You are detail-oriented and committed to delivering results on time and within budget, ensuring that all tooling meets the required specifications and quality standards.

Desirable

Experience with advanced manufacturing technologies and a solid understanding of the latest trends in tooling and materials science would be advantageous. Familiarity with industry standards and regulations related to plastic injection molding is also a plus. What you'll do
