Amazon is hiring a Software Development Engineer II for their Software Defined Network Control Plane team. You'll design and implement a scalable network architecture for a global telecom service using AWS technologies. This position requires experience in software development and networking.
You have a solid background in software development with a focus on networking and telecommunications. You understand the complexities of designing scalable systems and have experience with cloud services, particularly AWS. You are comfortable working in a collaborative environment and are eager to tackle challenging problems that require innovative solutions. You possess strong analytical skills and can think critically about system architecture and performance. You are detail-oriented and committed to delivering high-quality software that meets operational excellence standards. You are a U.S. citizen or permanent resident due to export control requirements.
In this role, you will take responsibility for designing and delivering a modern, flexible, scalable, high throughput, low latency network architecture for Amazon LEO's satellite communication initiative. You will implement planning and scheduling of network links at scale, ensuring that the network operates efficiently and reliably. You will develop highly-available software that drives networking control plane operations on both physical and remote nodes. Additionally, you will define and automate processes used for software development, implementation, testing, and maintenance, contributing to the overall operational excellence of control plane services. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that the network architecture aligns with business goals and user needs.
