Senior / Staff Data Engineer (BI) – CEG Team

Who you are

You have 5+ years of experience in data engineering, with a strong focus on building and optimizing data pipelines that support business intelligence and analytics. Your expertise in SQL and Python allows you to manipulate and analyze large datasets effectively, ensuring data quality and accessibility for stakeholders.

You are proficient in using BI tools such as Tableau and Power BI, enabling you to create insightful dashboards and reports that drive data-driven decision-making across the organization. Your experience with cloud platforms, particularly BigQuery, equips you to handle data storage and processing at scale.

You understand the importance of data governance and have implemented best practices to ensure compliance and security in data handling. Your collaborative nature allows you to work closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers and engineers, to identify data needs and deliver solutions that meet business objectives.

You are familiar with data orchestration tools like Airflow, which you have used to automate data workflows and ensure timely data availability for analysis. Your problem-solving skills enable you to troubleshoot data issues and optimize performance in data systems.

Desirable

Experience with machine learning frameworks or data science technologies is a plus, as you may collaborate with data scientists to deploy models into production. Familiarity with data visualization best practices will enhance your ability to communicate insights effectively.

What you'll do

In this role, you will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining scalable data pipelines that support Agoda's data analytics and business intelligence initiatives. You will collaborate with various teams to understand their data requirements and deliver solutions that enhance their decision-making capabilities.

You will work on optimizing existing data processes, ensuring data integrity and quality throughout the data lifecycle. Your role will involve implementing data governance practices to maintain compliance and security standards.

You will leverage your expertise in SQL and Python to extract, transform, and load (ETL) data from various sources into data warehouses, ensuring that data is readily available for analysis. You will also create and maintain dashboards and reports using BI tools like Tableau and Power BI, providing stakeholders with actionable insights.

As part of the data engineering team, you will participate in code reviews and contribute to the development of best practices for data engineering. You will also mentor junior team members, sharing your knowledge and helping them grow in their roles.
