Overview

Microsoft is hiring an EMEA Opex Controller to support controllership at the EMEA regional level. You'll be responsible for project review, P&L processes, and driving actionable insights. This role requires strong analytical skills and experience in financial planning.

Who you are

You have a strong background in financial analysis and controllership, ideally with experience in managing operating expenses and conducting variance analyses. You are skilled in identifying trends and opportunities for optimization, and you understand the importance of ROI in budget deployment. Your analytical mindset allows you to provide actionable insights during financial close periods, and you are comfortable collaborating with various stakeholders to drive effective business planning and forecasting processes.

You possess excellent communication skills, enabling you to articulate complex financial concepts clearly to both financial and non-financial stakeholders. You thrive in a collaborative environment and are adept at building relationships across teams to ensure alignment on financial goals. Your attention to detail and commitment to accuracy are paramount in your role, as you support the execution of annual business planning and forecasting cycles.

Desirable

Experience with AI enablement and advanced analytics tools would be a plus, as you will be driving insights at scale. Familiarity with financial modeling and forecasting techniques will enhance your ability to contribute effectively to the team.

What you'll do

In this role, you will be responsible for supporting the ECIF controllership at the EMEA regional level. You will conduct project reviews and approvals, ensuring that all financial processes align with the company's strategic goals. Your responsibilities will include managing the operating expenses budget, focusing on ROI, and conducting variance analyses to identify trends and opportunities for optimization.

You will assist in the execution of the EMEA annual business planning and monthly/quarterly forecasting processes, completing analysis and modeling to support preliminary and adjusted forecast cycles. Your insights will be crucial during financial close periods, where you will review recurring financial statements and provide business support to enhance clarity and accountability.

You will partner closely with relevant stakeholders, soliciting insights to drive effective spend predictability and prioritization. Your role will involve collaborating with the EMEA FP&A team to ensure that financial strategies align with business objectives and contribute to growth and customer success across the region.
