Amazon is hiring an Engineering Operation Technician to maintain mission-critical technology infrastructure in Manassas, Virginia. You'll work with electrical and mechanical systems to ensure 99.999% uptime. This role requires hands-on troubleshooting skills and knowledge of data center operations.
You are an entry-level Engineering Technician with a strong foundation in electrical and mechanical systems. You have hands-on experience troubleshooting equipment and are eager to learn about data center operations. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting various systems within the data center, including stand-by diesel generators, three-phase electrical systems, and cooling equipment. You will work closely with other technicians and engineers to ensure that all equipment operates smoothly and efficiently. Your day-to-day tasks will involve hands-on work with electrical systems such as switch gear, UPSs, and PDUs, as well as mechanical systems like centrifugal chillers and air handlers. You will also participate in routine inspections and preventive maintenance to uphold the high standards of uptime that Amazon is known for. As part of the team, you will contribute to the continuous improvement of operational processes and help implement best practices in data center management.
