During your externship at Fox Creek Veterinary Hospital, you will experience the typical caseload of a small animal practice. Under the guidance of your mentor, you will gather patient histories, perform physical examinations, and develop diagnostic and therapeutic plans. You will have the opportunity to scrub in for surgeries and assist in managing medical cases, providing wellness care, and developing your client communication skills. This hands-on experience will allow you to polish your technical skills and gain confidence in your abilities as a future veterinarian. You will also participate in all aspects of patient care, ensuring that you are well-prepared for your career after graduation. At the end of your externship, your mentor will provide a written evaluation of your performance, which is a requirement of your college program.
