Google is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to develop large-scale infrastructure and distributed systems. You'll work with C++, Java, Python, and Go, and contribute to critical projects. This role requires 5+ years of programming experience and offers opportunities for technical leadership.
You have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience, along with 5 years of experience programming in C++, Java, or Python. Your background includes 3 years of experience testing, maintaining, or launching software products, and at least 1 year of experience with software design and architecture. You have developed large-scale infrastructure, distributed systems, or networks, and possess experience with compute technologies, storage, or hardware architecture. A Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field is preferred, as is 5 years of experience with data structures and algorithms. You have also spent at least 1 year in a technical leadership role and have experience developing accessible technologies. Familiarity with Kubernetes development, cloud platforms, or on-premises environments is a plus.
As a Senior Software Engineer at Google, you will work on specific projects critical to the company’s needs, with opportunities to switch teams and projects as the business evolves. You will ensure best practices are followed, including style guidelines, code accuracy, testability, and efficiency. Your role will involve contributing to existing documentation or educational content and adapting it based on product updates and user feedback. You will also triage product or system issues, debugging and tracking them by analyzing the sources of issues and their impact on hardware, network, or service operations and quality. Your contributions will help shape the next-generation technologies that change how billions of users connect, explore, and interact with information and one another.
