You have over 5 years of experience in software engineering, particularly in developing scalable and reliable applications. Your technical expertise allows you to tackle complex problems and deliver high-performing solutions. You thrive in collaborative environments, working closely with cross-functional teams to enhance customer experiences. Your background includes a strong understanding of voice technologies, and you are passionate about improving audio quality in applications. You are also committed to mentoring and training junior team members, fostering a culture of growth and learning within your team.

Desirable

Experience with cloud-based systems and agile methodologies is a plus. Familiarity with customer feedback loops and how to leverage them for product improvement will set you apart. You are open to exploring new technologies and methodologies to enhance your skill set and contribute to the team's success.

What you'll do

As a Software Engineer II on the Voice Client team, you will play a crucial role in developing and enhancing voice solutions that power Five9's contact center platform. You will be part of an agile team focused on building a scalable and highly available global voice platform. Your responsibilities will include collaborating with Product Managers, Architects, and Engineering leaders to understand requirements and translate them into technical specifications. You will also engage directly with customers to gather feedback and continuously improve the voice solutions.

You will apply performance and scalability principles in your software development, ensuring that the applications you build can handle high volumes of traffic while maintaining exceptional audio quality. Your role will involve mentoring junior engineers, sharing your knowledge and expertise to help them grow in their careers. You will participate in code reviews, contribute to technical documentation, and ensure that best practices are followed throughout the development process.
