SpaceX is hiring an Integration & Test Engineer for the Falcon 9 Subassembly to oversee assembly and testing processes. You'll collaborate with design engineers and develop manufacturing standards. This role requires a Bachelor's degree in engineering and relevant experience.
You have a Bachelor's degree in engineering and experience in assembly and testing processes for aerospace applications — your background includes working with design engineers to guide new designs from concept to production-capable mechanisms. You are skilled in evaluating designs for manufacturability and test requirements, and you thrive in rapidly evolving production environments. Your expertise extends to developing, qualifying, and refining manufacturing and test processes, ensuring products transition smoothly from prototype to high-volume production. You are familiar with creating industry-first standards and practices, positioning your team at the forefront of aerospace hardware manufacturability. You possess strong problem-solving skills, enabling you to interface effectively with engineers, subject matter experts, and technicians to tackle large-scale production challenges. Mentoring others is part of your ethos, as you promote a culture of technical excellence across your team.
In this role, you will oversee the assembly and testing processes for Falcon and Falcon Heavy launch vehicle assemblies, ensuring that all components meet rigorous quality standards. You will assist design engineers in guiding new designs from concepts to qualified, production-capable spaceflight mechanisms, working closely to evaluate designs for manufacturability and test requirements. Your responsibilities will include developing and refining manufacturing and test processes, enabling a seamless transition from prototype to high-volume production. You will define and create first-of-their-kind standards and practices within the industry, driving SpaceX to the forefront of aerospace hardware manufacturability. You will interface with other engineers and technicians to solve large-scale production challenges, ideating and implementing tooling and test solutions that enable high-quality builds of SpaceX hardware. Quickly resolving non-conformances will be crucial, as you will work with the Quality team to implement root cause corrective actions. Additionally, you will identify, plan, and execute capital equipment, machine, and layout upgrades to meet volume production demands. Mentoring team members on high-level engineering tasks will be part of your role, fostering a culture of collaboration and technical excellence.
