Who you are

You have over 5 years of experience in mobile engineering, specifically with iOS development, and have a strong understanding of the iOS ecosystem. Your expertise in Swift and Objective-C allows you to design and implement high-quality applications that engage users effectively. You are familiar with best practices in mobile development, including performance optimization and code maintainability, and you have a proven track record of delivering scalable solutions. You thrive in collaborative environments, working closely with product, design, and backend teams to create seamless user experiences. Your leadership skills enable you to guide junior engineers and drive technical initiatives within the team. You are passionate about building applications that prioritize user authenticity and connection.

Desirable

Experience with cross-platform development tools and frameworks is a plus, as is familiarity with backend technologies such as Go and Node.js. Knowledge of database management systems like PostgreSQL and Firebase will enhance your contributions to the team. You are also open to exploring new technologies and methodologies that can improve the iOS platform.

In this role, you will drive the technical direction of the BeReal iOS platform, ensuring its long-term scalability and performance. You will design and deliver impactful iOS features that balance immediate product needs with the health of the platform. Leading cross-functional initiatives, you will collaborate with product managers, designers, and backend engineers to create cohesive and engaging user experiences. You will implement engineering best practices across the iOS team, focusing on code quality and maintainability. Your hands-on development work will involve writing clean, efficient code and conducting code reviews to uphold high standards. You will also mentor junior engineers, fostering their growth and encouraging a culture of learning within the team. As a key member of the BeReal team, you will contribute to shaping the future of social media by building a platform that celebrates authenticity.
