Overview

Relativity is seeking an Engine Design Engineer II to contribute to the design and analysis of engine systems for their Terran R vehicle. You'll work with AutoCAD and MATLAB to develop high-performance rocket engines in Long Beach, California.

Who you are

You have a strong background in engineering, particularly in engine design and analysis, with experience in the aerospace industry. Your technical skills include proficiency in AutoCAD and MATLAB, allowing you to create detailed designs and perform complex analyses. You thrive in collaborative environments, working closely with cross-functional teams to solve challenging problems and innovate in rocket technology. You are detail-oriented and possess a deep understanding of the entire lifecycle of engineering projects, from initial concept through to production and testing. You are passionate about space exploration and eager to contribute to groundbreaking projects that push the boundaries of technology.

Desirable

Experience with propulsion systems and a solid understanding of rocket engine performance metrics would be advantageous. Familiarity with manufacturing processes and materials used in aerospace applications is also a plus. You are open to learning new tools and methodologies that can enhance your design capabilities and improve project outcomes.

What you'll do

As an Engine Design Engineer II at Relativity, you will be responsible for the design and analysis of engine systems for the Terran R rocket. You will collaborate with propulsion engineers to develop innovative solutions that meet performance and manufacturability requirements. Your role will involve creating detailed CAD models and simulations to evaluate engine performance under various conditions. You will also participate in design reviews and contribute to the documentation of engineering processes and results. Your work will directly impact the success of the Terran R program, as you help to ensure that the engines are reliable and efficient.
