We are looking for a passionate, talented, and inventive Applied Scientist with a background in AI, Gen AI, Machine Learning, and NLP to help build LLM solutions for Amazon Core Shopping. Key job responsibilities
As an Applied Scientist, you will work on state-of-the-art technologies that will result in published papers. However, you will not only theorize about the algorithms but also have the opportunity to implement them and see how they perform in the field. Our team works on a variety of projects, including state-of-the-art generative AI, LLM fine-tuning, alignment, prompt engineering, and benchmarking solutions.- Master's degree in computer science, mathematics, statistics, machine learning or equivalent quantitative field
- Experience programming in Java, C++, Python or related language
- Experience with SQL and an RDBMS (e.g., Oracle) or Data Warehouse- Experience implementing algorithms using both toolkits and self-developed code
- Have publications at top-tier peer-reviewed conferences or journals

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129,400/year in our lowest geographic market up to $212,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
