NewsBreak is seeking a Legal Counsel to partner with business teams in drafting and negotiating commercial agreements. This role requires expertise in product compliance, data privacy, and contract law.
You have a strong background in legal practice, particularly in commercial agreements and compliance. You are adept at advising business teams and have experience in negotiating contracts related to revenue share, advertising, and terms of service. Your understanding of data privacy and security laws is robust, and you are comfortable providing guidance in various legal practice areas. You thrive in collaborative environments, working closely with internal clients and senior management to ensure legal compliance across the organization.
Experience in the tech industry is a plus, as is familiarity with the unique legal challenges faced by content platforms. You are proactive in identifying potential legal issues and are skilled at developing strategies to mitigate risks. Your ability to communicate complex legal concepts in a clear and concise manner is essential for this role.
As a Legal Counsel at NewsBreak, you will report directly to the General Counsel and collaborate with the legal team to support the company's growth. You will draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements, ensuring that all contracts align with the company's business objectives and legal requirements. You will provide legal guidance on product development, helping teams navigate compliance issues while fostering innovation. Your role will involve advising on data privacy and security matters, ensuring that the company adheres to relevant regulations. You will also support the legal team in litigation matters, providing insights and strategies to protect the company's interests.

The role offers an annual base pay range of $150,000 to $210,000, along with potential discretionary bonuses and stock options.
