Google is seeking a Senior Data Scientist for the Google Play Developer Risk team to provide quantitative support and market understanding. Who you are

You have a Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, Engineering, Physics, Economics, or a related quantitative field, or equivalent practical experience. With at least 8 years of work experience using analytics to solve product or business problems, you have a strong background in performing statistical analysis and coding with tools such as Python, R, and SQL. If you hold a Master's degree, you can qualify with 5 years of relevant experience. You are a data-loving individual who enjoys weaving stories with meaningful insights derived from data, and you thrive on making critical recommendations for your colleagues in Engineering and Product Management.

You possess a comprehensive understanding of Google data structures and metrics, advocating for necessary changes to enhance product development. Your ability to communicate findings effectively to team leaders and influence across teams is a key strength. You relish the challenge of translating complex analysis results into actionable business insights or product improvement opportunities, ensuring that your analytics expertise supports your partners throughout the organization.

Desirable

A Master's degree in a quantitative field is preferred, as is experience in a similar role within a tech company. Familiarity with Google's platforms and devices will be advantageous, as will a strategic perspective on market understanding and user behavior.

What you'll do

In this role, you will serve as an analytics expert for your partners, providing quantitative support that helps them make informed decisions. You will be responsible for building and prototyping analysis and business cases iteratively, delivering insights at scale that can influence product direction.
