Overview

You have a strong background in metallization processes, particularly in the context of solar cell production. Your experience includes working with advanced manufacturing techniques and you are familiar with the lifecycle of setting up production lines, from design to commissioning. What you'll do

As a Metallization Process Engineer at SpaceX, you will lead the development of state-of-the-art production processes for solar cells used in Starlink satellites. You will be responsible for setting up a greenfield solar cell production plant, which includes overseeing equipment procurement, designing the plant layout, and commissioning the equipment. Your role will involve recipe and process development to ensure the production of high-efficiency solar cells that meet the needs of both Starlink and future missions to the Moon and Mars.

You will work closely with cross-functional teams to develop and implement processes such as chemical etching, PE-CVD, and PVD. Your expertise will be crucial in optimizing production workflows and ensuring that the solar cells produced are of the highest quality. You will also be involved in training and developing a world-class production team, fostering an environment of continuous improvement and innovation.
