Job Description

We currently have a vacancy for a Workplace, Health, and Safety (WHS) – Coordinator to join the Amazon AU Team. This position is located at MEL8 in Craigieburn Victoria, reporting to the WHS manager.

This role is open to anyone who has a particular interest in work health and safety and requires working with the WHS team to deliver high standards of safety within the site. The suitable applicant will be trained in both the standard work and tools used within the WHS function. You will be a strong communicator, who values teamwork, is proactive about safety and who can function as a role model and engage professionally with the entire site workforce.

*This is an hourly paid role working on Night Shift, Monday to Friday 5pm to 1am.



Key job responsibilities
Would suit a recent graduate with a degree in safety or a safety professional with 1–3 years experience

Assist with risk assessments as required and follow-up control measures to completion.

Advise associates and managers on company procedures and legal requirements within the level of a Coordinators knowledge. Know their level of competence and not provide information outside this level.

Monitor the site for compliance with company safety procedures.

Assist in the implementation of Regional WHS management programs at site level.

Assist with the investigation of incidents to establish root cause and develop required action plans with relevant processes.

Update internal records regarding incidents, near misses and accidents, Area Observations, Safety Inspections, pre-start records and ‘Safety Saves’.

Be involved in undertaking action plans to ensure continuing compliance with Legislation.

Be able to maintain confidentiality in matters involving safety investigations.

Monitor Dock and Yard safety procedures to ensure compliance.

Carry out WHS training sessions for managers and associates as required.

Flexibility on hours worked to cover shifts and escalations as required.

- Experience with planning, performance metrics, and process improvement
- Bachelors degree in a Safety related field or a Cert IV in Safety.- Experience with data analysis
- Experience in logistics or similar industry
