Overview

Instacart is seeking a Software Engineering Manager for their Catalog Interfaces team to lead the development of critical data models and access patterns. This role requires strong leadership skills and experience in software engineering.

You possess excellent communication skills, enabling you to effectively convey technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Desirable

Experience with grocery or e-commerce platforms is a plus, as is familiarity with data modeling and access patterns. You may have a background in cloud technologies and are comfortable working with cross-functional teams to achieve business objectives.

What you'll do

As the Software Engineering Manager for the Catalog Interfaces team at Instacart, you will lead a talented group of engineers in developing the data models and access patterns that support our grocery delivery service. You will be responsible for setting the technical direction of the team, ensuring that projects align with the company's mission to provide access to food for everyone.

You will collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and other engineering teams to define project requirements and deliver solutions that meet customer needs. Your role will involve overseeing the entire software development lifecycle, from planning and design to implementation and maintenance.

You will also focus on team development, conducting regular one-on-ones and performance reviews to help your engineers grow in their careers. You will promote a culture of learning and innovation, encouraging your team to experiment with new technologies and approaches.
