Overview

Xometry is seeking a Senior Solutions Engineer to support sales in the aerospace and defense sector. You'll engage with customers, provide technical expertise, and manage projects. This role requires experience in engineering and customer engagement.

Who you are

You are an experienced engineer with a strong background in aerospace and defense, bringing at least 5 years of relevant experience to the table. Your technical expertise is complemented by your ability to engage with customers effectively, ensuring their needs are met while driving account growth and retention. You thrive in a collaborative environment, working closely with Account Executives to illuminate and execute major projects. Your digital fluency allows you to navigate the complexities of the manufacturing landscape, making you a valuable asset to the team.

You have a proactive mindset, always looking to identify and address potential manufacturing challenges, including Design for Manufacturing (DFM) considerations. Staying informed about upcoming customer projects and initiatives is second nature to you, ensuring alignment with their goals and expectations. Your charisma and communication skills enable you to build strong relationships with clients, making you a trusted partner in their success.

Desirable

Experience in a customer-facing role within the aerospace and defense industry is a plus, as is familiarity with digital manufacturing technologies. You may also have a background in project management, which enhances your ability to oversee complex projects from inception to completion. A passion for the aerospace sector and a desire to contribute to innovative solutions will set you apart in this role.

What you'll do

In this role, you will partner with Account Executives to drive account growth and retention, leveraging your engineering expertise to support sales efforts. You will engage with customers to understand their needs, providing insights and feedback that help shape their projects. Your responsibilities will include discovering and organizing major projects, ensuring that all aspects are executed efficiently and effectively.

You will join Account Executives on onsite visits with customers when appropriate, allowing you to build rapport and trust while addressing any technical questions or concerns they may have. Your proactive approach will help identify potential manufacturing challenges early on, enabling you to provide solutions that align with customer expectations.

Staying informed about upcoming customer projects and initiatives will be crucial to your success. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and support throughout the project lifecycle. Your ability to communicate complex technical concepts in a clear and engaging manner will be essential in fostering strong relationships with clients.
