Amazon is hiring an Engineering Operations Technician to maintain mission-critical technology infrastructure in Canton, Mississippi. You'll work with electrical and mechanical systems to ensure 99.999% uptime. This role requires hands-on troubleshooting skills and knowledge of data center operations.
As an Engineering Operations Technician, you are a critical guardian of technological infrastructure, ensuring seamless operations that power global digital experiences. You have hands-on experience with electrical and mechanical equipment troubleshooting, and you are familiar with maintaining and operating mission-critical facilities. Your expertise will contribute to maintaining an extraordinary 99.999% uptime, keeping the digital world running smoothly and efficiently. You possess a strong understanding of electrical systems, including three-phase electrical systems, switch gear, UPSs, PDUs, and wet cell batteries. Additionally, you are knowledgeable about mechanical systems such as centrifugal chillers, cooling towers, and air handlers. Your ability to troubleshoot and maintain these systems is crucial for the success of the data center operations. You are a proactive team player who enjoys collaborating with diverse teams of engineers and specialists to tackle challenges and improve operational efficiency.
Experience with diesel generators and related fuel systems is a plus, as is familiarity with AWS infrastructure services. You are eager to learn and grow within the field, and you are open to taking on new challenges that will enhance your skills and contribute to the success of the team.
In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining, operating, and troubleshooting the Data Center Operations Mission Critical Facilities. You will work closely with a team of software, hardware, and network engineers to ensure that all systems are functioning optimally. Your day-to-day tasks will include performing routine inspections, conducting preventive maintenance, and responding to alarms and incidents to minimize downtime. You will also document your findings and contribute to the continuous improvement of operational processes.
You will play a key role in supporting AWS data centers, ensuring that all servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment are operational. Your contributions will directly impact the reliability of the services provided to customers, and you will be involved in solving some of the most challenging problems in the industry.
