Job Description

Are you looking for a new challenge in a fast-paced, innovative company, on a rapidly growing team? If so, come make history with the Rapid and Rural (R2L) Expansions team.

The R2L Team increases the speed of delivery for customers in Urban areas and is responsible for the acquisition, construction and management of all facilities within the Sub Same Day program. We are looking for a program manager to join our R2L Expansions Team who will develop and manage a cross-functional process to identify and validate perspective new buildings or land options, think big to anticipate and work around potential blockers, and deliver site selections for new building launches.

For this role, we are looking for Program Manager with strong capacity management, network planning and proven project management experience to own both strategic and tactical real estate expansion projects and programs. This role requires scoping and creating project plans, developing and scaling processes, coordinating and driving execution, and communicating to cross-functional senior management on status, risks and process/product changes. Cross-team collaboration, project management and executive presentation skills are essential.


Key job responsibilities
- Roadmap early pre-lifecycle process for capacity planning and network expansion
- Manage full lifecycle of the real estate expansion process from business requirement to lease signing through cross-functional partnerships across Transactions, Legal, Capacity Planning, Operations, and Pre-Construction, among others
- Develop the overall program strategy, tactically driving teams in and outside of your organization to deliver new fulfillment locations
- Drive program objectives, analyze data and drive quantifiable improvements
- Work autonomously in an ambiguous environment, seeking to understand business problems, automation limitations, and scaling factors
- Partner with cross-functional teams to source, allocate, and coordinate resources
- Partner with customers, internal/external teams, and engineering teams to determine project prioritization
- Identify gaps between teams, processes and systems, helping teams reduce inefficiencies
- Solve ambiguous problems and proactively identify and mitigate risks before they become roadblocks
- Work with program managers, business leaders and executive team to communicate and impact critical business initiatives
- Develop, implement, and track KPI reporting for a portfolio of programs, providing visibility to the milestones, and performance across all projects
- Engage other Amazon business units globally to share best practices and improve end to end outcomes for Amazon customers

- 5+ years of program or project management experience
- Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements
- Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership- 2+ years of driving process improvements experience
- Master's degree in management, business administration, economics, engineering, marketing

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $104,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
