Overview

Enviva is seeking an Area Manager for their Woodyard operations in Waycross, GA. You'll be responsible for maintaining production quality, ensuring safety, and driving continuous improvement efforts. This role requires a strong background in manufacturing and leadership experience.

Job Description

Who you are

You have at least 5 years of experience working in a manufacturing environment, where you've developed a keen understanding of production processes and quality metrics. Your leadership experience, ideally spanning 2 years, has equipped you with the skills to train and develop team members effectively. You possess a strong educational background in a STEM field or equivalent experience, which supports your technical knowledge in the industry. Your working knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical motors, pumps, fans, blowers, and conveyors is essential for maintaining operational efficiency. You excel in critical thinking and problem-solving, allowing you to foresee potential issues and implement effective solutions. You are committed to ensuring a safe working environment and are proactive in driving continuous improvement efforts within your area of responsibility.

What you'll do

As the Area Manager, you will report directly to the Operations Manager and play a crucial role in maintaining a stock of spare parts and tools necessary for production. You will be responsible for ensuring that all process and product quality metrics are met, while also striving to meet volume targets. Developing and implementing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) will be a key part of your role, ensuring that all team members are aligned with operational standards. You will provide training and development opportunities for your team, fostering a culture of growth and improvement. Additionally, you will oversee the maintenance program for your area, ensuring that all tooling is accounted for and costs are managed effectively. Your leadership will drive continuous improvement efforts, helping to enhance production efficiency and reduce costs. You will also be responsible for staffing your area and maintaining your set budget, ensuring that resources are allocated effectively to meet operational goals.
