Our remote-first, global team develop open-source software that anyone can use or improve. This includes Polkadot, the Polkadot SDK and Kusama - key parts of the Web3 tech stack, the next generation of the internet. Our mission is to make Polkadot the most active and innovative community in blockchain, powering a new era of connected and decentralised applications.
This role sits in our Acceleration department, home to the people who drive ecosystem growth by building tools, integrations, and partnerships across the Polkadot network.
As a Core Developer within the Runtime function you'll collaborate with product, design, and engineering teams to build and maintain core protocol functionality that is foundational to creating truly decentralised and resilient applications.
We are looking for new engineers to join the team. In these positions, you will:
Design and implement cutting edge protocols that will be used for the Polkadot protocol and teams building applications on it
Collaborate with product development teams and see direct impact of your work
Work on tooling and abstractions that enable joyous applications
Work autonomously and solve problems independently
Collaborate with others in an open-source culture, work well with peer review as a reviewer and reviewee
Possess a good understanding of system design and an ability to work with complex systems
Take ownership of their work and be responsible for outcomes
Have good communication skills and can present work in “plain English” in blog posts or conferences
