Esri is seeking a Principal Product Designer to lead the design vision for ArcGIS Map Viewer. You'll collaborate across teams to create impactful mapping experiences and ensure usability and accessibility. This role requires strong design skills and experience in user research.
You have extensive experience in product design, particularly in web applications, and a strong portfolio showcasing your design process and outcomes. Your expertise includes developing user journeys, wireframes, and prototypes that effectively communicate design concepts. You are skilled in conducting user research and usability testing, ensuring that user needs are at the forefront of your design decisions. You understand the importance of accessibility and inclusivity in design, advocating for compliance with WCAG 2.1 and Section 508 standards. You thrive in collaborative environments, working closely with cross-functional teams including developers, product managers, and researchers to deliver cohesive design solutions. Your ability to mentor and guide other designers is a key strength, as you enjoy fostering a culture of design excellence within your team.
Experience with mapping applications or geospatial data visualization is a plus, as is familiarity with design systems and iterative design methodologies. You are comfortable using design tools such as Figma and have a keen eye for visual design principles. Your background in agile methodologies will help you adapt to fast-paced project environments.
