Job Description

Who you are

You have 5+ years of experience in software engineering, with a strong background in developing secure applications and services. Your expertise in cloud technologies, particularly Azure, allows you to architect and manage solutions that meet stringent security and compliance requirements. You thrive in collaborative environments and are passionate about delivering high-quality software that meets customer needs. You understand the importance of diversity and inclusion in the workplace and actively seek to contribute to a culture that values different perspectives.

You possess a growth mindset and are eager to learn and adapt to new technologies and methodologies. Your experience with agile development practices enables you to work effectively within cross-functional teams, ensuring that projects are delivered on time and meet quality standards. You have a strong understanding of software development life cycles and are comfortable with both front-end and back-end technologies.

Desirable

Experience with DoD or DIB projects is a plus, as is familiarity with enterprise IT environments. Knowledge of additional cloud platforms or services beyond Azure will enhance your ability to contribute to the team. You are also encouraged to bring any experience with security frameworks or compliance standards relevant to government contracts.

What you'll do

As a Senior Software Engineer at Microsoft, you will play a pivotal role in the PLx team, where you will architect, deploy, and manage secure Microsoft services in both cloud and hybrid environments. You will collaborate closely with other engineers, product managers, and stakeholders to ensure that the solutions you develop meet the needs of our DoD and DIB customers. Your responsibilities will include designing and implementing secure architectures, conducting code reviews, and mentoring junior engineers to foster their growth.

You will be involved in the entire software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering and design to implementation and deployment. Your role will require you to stay updated on the latest security practices and compliance requirements, ensuring that our services are not only functional but also secure and reliable. You will also have the opportunity to contribute to the continuous improvement of our development processes and practices, helping to drive innovation within the team.

You will have access to a variety of learning and development opportunities, allowing you to enhance your skills and advance your career. Our culture emphasizes respect, integrity, and accountability, creating an inclusive workplace where everyone can thrive. We encourage you to apply even if your experience doesn't match every requirement, as we value diverse backgrounds and perspectives.
