Datadog is hiring a Senior Account Executive for the Public Sector in Tokyo to drive sales and build relationships with government agencies. You'll leverage your experience in sales methodologies and technology to meet challenging revenue goals.

Who you are

You have over 5 years of experience in closing sales, particularly in mid-market and enterprise field sales, demonstrating a strong track record of exceeding annual sales targets of over $1 million. Your experience includes managing deals with an average size of over $100,000, showcasing your ability to navigate complex sales processes effectively.

You possess a clear sales methodology that allows you to prospect and build a robust pipeline. Your background in innovative tech companies, particularly in SaaS and IT infrastructure, gives you a competitive edge in understanding customer needs and delivering tailored solutions.

You have a proven history of acquiring new logos within Fortune 1000 companies, demonstrating your capability to penetrate large organizations and establish long-term relationships. Your strong problem-solving skills enable you to tackle challenging issues that arise during the sales process, ensuring customer satisfaction and successful deal closures.

You thrive in a collaborative environment and value the relationships built through office culture. You are passionate about technology and are eager to contribute to a team that supports individual growth and collective success.

Desirable

Experience in federal sales or working with public sector clients is a plus, as it will enhance your ability to understand the unique challenges faced by government agencies. A passion for continuous learning and professional development will help you excel in this role.

What you'll do

In this role, you will be responsible for prospecting central government agencies and executing an efficient sales process. You will build and manage a stakeholder map within your assigned territory, identifying existing relationships and future key players to engage with.

You will develop a deep understanding of customer businesses, allowing you to negotiate pricing and contract terms based on value and ROI. While managing expectations of existing customers, you will also focus on expanding and deepening relationships within your territory.

Your high problem-solving skills will be crucial when facing complex challenges, and you will intuitively grasp the steps necessary for closing deals, ensuring you secure customer agreements effectively. You will identify key business drivers in every negotiation, maintaining high accuracy and consistency in your forecast management.
