Amazon is hiring a Systems Development Engineer to support the refinement of system requirements and develop operability-related features for AWS infrastructure. You'll work with AWS, Linux, and Python to enhance system management tools and processes.
You have a strong background in systems engineering, with experience in developing and managing complex distributed systems. Your expertise in AWS and Linux allows you to effectively monitor and automate system health and maintenance tasks. You are proficient in Python, which you use to create automation scripts that enhance operational efficiency. You understand the importance of system diagnostics and repair, and you are skilled in developing tools that reduce manual efforts. You are comfortable participating in on-call rotations and resolving incidents that occur outside of regular hours. You hold or are able to attain an Australian Government Security Vetting Agency clearance, ensuring you can work on sensitive projects.
In this role, you will support the refinement of system requirements and participate in the development and delivery of operability-related features. You will be responsible for monitoring the health of the AWS fleet, automating system health checks, and reporting on system performance. You will adapt and improve operations management systems to accommodate the rapid growth in systems and traffic. Your role will involve participating in the design and execution of production acceptance tests and evaluating new hardware. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the best results for AWS customers, contributing to the overall success of AWS's global infrastructure.
