Kong is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to architect and maintain Kong Identity's multi-tenant identity platform. You'll work with Java and implement OAuth 2.0 and OpenID Connect flows. This role requires strong experience in building scalable authentication services.
You have 5+ years of software engineering experience, particularly in building and maintaining complex systems. Your expertise includes architecting multi-tenant platforms and implementing enterprise-grade security controls. You are comfortable working with authentication protocols like OAuth 2.0 and OpenID Connect, and you understand the intricacies of token management and client credential systems. Experience with API management and cloud technologies is a plus. Familiarity with high-volume authentication requests and performance optimization techniques will set you apart. You are passionate about creating secure and scalable solutions that enhance user experience and developer efficiency.
As a Senior Software Engineer on the Konnect team at Kong, you will be responsible for architecting and maintaining Kong Identity's core services. This includes building auth servers, managing token generation, and implementing client credential systems that support OAuth 2.0 and OpenID Connect flows. You will develop scalable services that handle high-volume authentication requests with sub-millisecond latency, ensuring a seamless user experience.
You will also work on the claims engine, supporting dynamic attribute resolution and contextual claim injection at token issuance. Your role will involve implementing integration points between Kong Identity and Gateway Manager, enhancing the overall functionality and security of the platform. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that the solutions you develop align with the company's mission of enabling organizations to become API-first.
