Waymo is seeking a Hardware Development Engineer, Test to develop and maintain hardware/software for testing stations. You'll provide technical leadership and conduct failure analysis. This role requires a degree in Electrical Engineering or related fields.
You hold a BS or MS degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, Robotics, or a relevant field — your educational background has equipped you with the foundational knowledge necessary for hardware development. You have experience in developing and maintaining hardware and software systems, particularly in testing environments, which has honed your technical skills and problem-solving abilities. You are adept at collaborating with manufacturing partners, providing guidance and troubleshooting support to ensure production testers are effectively brought up and maintained. Your analytical skills enable you to conduct thorough failure analysis on PCBA and photonic modules, allowing you to identify and resolve issues efficiently.
You possess strong documentation skills, which are essential for specifying tester requirements and managing vendor relationships. Your ability to communicate technical specifications clearly ensures that all stakeholders are aligned and that the development process runs smoothly. You thrive in a collaborative environment, working closely with cross-functional teams to integrate hardware solutions into vehicle platforms. In this role, you will develop and maintain hardware and software for test stations, focusing on PCBA and module-level testing. You will provide technical leadership to manufacturing partners, guiding them in the setup, troubleshooting, and maintenance of production testers. Your responsibilities will include conducting failure analysis on production fallouts, allowing you to identify root causes and implement corrective actions. You will also develop product troubleshooting and rework procedures, ensuring that all processes are efficient and effective.
Documentation will be a key part of your role, as you will be responsible for specifying tester requirements and managing relationships with tester vendors. This will involve collaborating with various teams to ensure that all testing equipment meets the necessary specifications and standards. You will play a crucial role in integrating hardware solutions into vehicle platforms, contributing to the overall success of Waymo's autonomous driving technology.
Waymo offers a competitive salary range of TWD 2,200,000 to TWD 2,660,000, reflecting the importance of this role within the company.
