Anthropic is seeking a Security Engineer specializing in Operating Systems to enhance the security of their AI infrastructure. You'll design and implement OS-level security controls using technologies like SELinux and AppArmor. You have a strong background in security engineering, particularly focused on operating systems. Your experience includes designing and implementing security controls that protect systems from sophisticated attacks while maintaining performance. You are familiar with kernel hardening techniques and have hands-on experience with security policies using tools like SELinux and AppArmor. You understand the balance between security and operational needs, especially in environments that support AI model training. You are comfortable working with diverse hardware platforms and have a proactive approach to minimizing attack surfaces. You are detail-oriented and have a passion for creating secure and reliable systems.
In this role, you will be responsible for designing and implementing hardened OS configurations tailored for AI workloads. You will work on minimizing attack surfaces by removing unnecessary components from both kernelspace and userspace. Your tasks will include developing kernel security policies and runtime enforcement mechanisms to ensure the integrity of the systems. You will implement and maintain full-disk encryption solutions across various storage systems, enhancing data security. Additionally, you will build security infrastructure for AI systems and research environments, ensuring that production services are resilient against potential threats. You will collaborate closely with researchers and engineers to understand their needs and ensure that security measures do not hinder their work. Your role will also involve creating OS-level attestation and integrity checks to further bolster the security posture of the infrastructure.
