Google is seeking a Senior Data Scientist for their Trust and Safety team to leverage data analysis for business outcomes. You'll utilize Python, R, and SQL to solve complex problems and present insights to stakeholders. This role requires a Master's degree and significant experience in data analytics.

Job Description

Who you are

You hold a Master's degree in a quantitative discipline such as Statistics, Engineering, or Sciences, and have at least 4 years of experience using analytics to solve product or business problems. Your coding skills in Python, R, and SQL are strong, allowing you to query databases and perform statistical analysis effectively. You have a proven track record of managing business outcomes using data analysis and statistical modeling techniques, with a preference for candidates who have 6 years of experience in a large global business. Your experience includes utilizing data science techniques to address business issues, and you are comfortable leading technical projects while influencing cross-functional teams in ambiguous environments.

Your communication skills are excellent, enabling you to translate complex data insights into clear recommendations for non-technical audiences. You have experience in Trust and Safety, content moderation, or risk analysis, which enhances your ability to contribute to Google's mission of protecting user integrity. You thrive in collaborative settings, working with various teams from Engineering to Legal and Public Policy to set effective policies.

Desirable

Experience with dashboard solutions such as Tableau or Qlik is a plus, as is familiarity with data pipelines and statistical analysis tools. You are adept at presenting findings and business recommendations to multiple levels of stakeholders and leadership teams, ensuring that data-driven decisions are made effectively.

What you'll do

As a Senior Data Scientist at Google, you will be part of the Trust and Safety team, where your primary responsibility will be to analyze data to reduce risk and protect user experiences across Google's products. You will collaborate with engineering teams to develop AI-based content rating systems and measure efficiency gains from these systems. Your role will involve influencing business and engineering stakeholders to ensure that the data tells the right story, helping them make informed, data-backed decisions.

You will present your findings and business recommendations to various stakeholders, including leadership teams, ensuring that your insights drive strategic decisions. Your work will directly impact how Google manages trust and safety across its platforms, contributing to the company's overall success.
