Amazon is seeking a WHS Officer to enhance workplace health and safety at their fulfillment center in Cairo. You'll lead risk assessments, implement safety standards, and promote a safe culture among employees. This role requires strong organizational and communication skills.
You have experience in workplace health and safety, ideally in a fulfillment or industrial environment. You understand the importance of maintaining a safe workplace and have a proactive approach to risk management. You are skilled in conducting safety audits and implementing safety programs that align with both local regulations and global standards. Your ability to communicate effectively with team members at all levels helps foster a culture of safety and compliance. You are detail-oriented and can manage multiple tasks while ensuring that safety protocols are followed diligently. You are committed to continuous improvement and are always looking for ways to enhance safety practices within the organization.
In this role, you will lead site risk assessments for current and new activities, ensuring that all potential hazards are identified and mitigated. You will implement site-specific WHS standards and guidelines, working closely with the WHS Manager to align with corporate objectives. Promoting a safe culture among employees is a key responsibility, and you will provide daily WHS content during shift briefings to keep safety top of mind. You will perform frequent site safety audits to identify non-compliance issues and collaborate with the Operations team to develop solutions that eliminate risks and prevent injuries. Additionally, you will attend to incidents and occupational injury cases on site, guiding area managers through incident investigations and ensuring that lessons learned are communicated effectively. Your role will also involve auditing record-keeping practices to ensure compliance with global WHS standards and local regulations, as well as managing the PPE inventory and coordinating with procurement for necessary orders.
