Senior Program Manager, GCP Security Response Operations

Who you are

You have a Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent practical experience, along with 8 years of experience in program management and security. Your background includes 3 years of managing security escalations and leading teams towards resolution, demonstrating your ability to navigate complex security challenges. You have experience in security operations, systems administration, digital forensics, security engineering, or privacy engineering, which equips you with a comprehensive understanding of the security landscape. Your experience working with cross-functional teams has honed your collaboration skills, allowing you to effectively coordinate efforts across various organizational levels. You are familiar with incident or emergency response coordination and have worked in specialized security operations domains such as digital forensics, incident management, or threat intelligence. Additionally, you have experience in customer-facing incident response roles, showcasing your ability to communicate effectively with clients and stakeholders. You are proficient in implementing and operationalizing security tools such as SIEMs, IPS/IDS, and DFIR tools, and you have a solid understanding of programming/query languages including Python, Go, C++, JavaScript, Bash, PowerShell, and SQL.

What you'll do

In this role, you will focus on continuously identifying and analyzing security threats within Google Cloud Platform (GCP), rapidly responding to and managing imminent and critical vulnerabilities. You will lead various cross-functional teams, spanning multiple organizational levels and functional areas, to assess and respond to reported vulnerabilities and escalations from bug bounty programs. Your technical judgment will drive outcomes and technology reviews, allowing you to challenge proposals and build consensus among stakeholders. You will organize cross-project work and define program controls, governance, and standards to ensure effective management of security operations. Your leadership will be crucial in guiding teams towards resolution during security escalations, fostering a collaborative environment where team members can thrive. You will also be responsible for developing and governing a continuous identification and analysis of threats in GCP, ensuring that the organization is well-prepared to handle security incidents. Your role will involve working closely with various teams to implement best practices in security operations and contribute to the overall security posture of Google Cloud.
