Job Description

As Amazon Photos continues to scale, we're seeking a Senior Program Manager to build and lead our Product Operations function. This role will create the operational foundation that enables our three product groups and multiple engineering teams to deliver customer value more effectively. You'll establish the processes, tools, and practices that help product teams focus on innovation while ensuring consistent, high-quality execution. Key job responsibilities
Product Operations is the backbone of efficient product development, focusing on making teams more effective through better processes, tools, and practices. You'll own the end-to-end operational framework for our product organization, from quarterly planning through release management. This includes implementing standardized approaches to roadmap planning, establishing release coordination processes, and creating knowledge management systems that enable teams to work smarter. You'll partner closely with product leadership to define and track success metrics, ensuring our operational practices drive meaningful improvements in how we deliver value to customers. Core areas of focus:
• Design and implementation of product development processes across groups
• Knowledge management and best practices documentation
• Release coordination and change control
• Voice of Customer (VOC) program integration
• Tools and infrastructure management

A day in the life
Your role sits at the intersection of product, engineering, and business operations, requiring strong collaboration with teams across the organization. A typical day might involve facilitating a quarterly planning session with product leaders in the morning, analyzing release metrics to identify process improvements in the afternoon, and working with engineering managers to streamline cross-team dependencies. You'll regularly engage with senior leadership to provide visibility into operational health and recommend improvements based on data and team feedback. Success in this role means being both strategic in planning improvements and hands-on in implementing them. Key partnerships include:
• Product Managers and Engineering Managers
• UX and Design teams
• Analytics and Data teams

About the team
The Amazon Photos Product & Program team consists of Product Management, Technical Program Management, and User Experience Designers with experience ranging from 1 to 20 years in the field. Our team members come from diverse disciplines, various company sizes, and at least five countries. We share a passion for solving our customer’s problems, continuously improving our craft, and striving to become a center of excellence in Product Management at Amazon. We embrace an underdog mentality, never settling for conventional thinking or the status quo.- 8+ years of program or project management experience
- Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements
- Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership
- Experience with end to end product delivery experience- 2+ years of driving process improvements experience
- Master's degree, or MBA in business, operations, human resources, adult education, organizational development, instructional design or related field
- Experience implementing repeatable processes and driving automation or standardization

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $104,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
