We’re hiring a Senior SDE (SDE3) in Bangalore to help shape the future of systematic tax compliance and controllership across APAC and LATAM.
Join the FinTech - Tax Tech team, where we build globally scalable systems that enable Amazon to meet complex, evolving tax regulations with speed and precision. Our products directly support providing a critical backbone for compliance, audit readiness, and regulatory reporting.

This is more than backend engineering , you’ll drive innovation at the intersection of technology, tax policy, and international expansion. We are also utilizing GenAI and ML-based automation to revolutionize how tax compliance is delivered from real-time error detection to self-healing reconciliation.
What You’ll Do:
* Architect and build extensible, self-serve platforms for withholding tax, indirect tax, audit readiness, and more with scale and compliance-by-design as key principles.
* Lead Gen AI-first product development for automating manual tax processes, including proactive risk detection, smart reconciliations, and intelligent reporting.
* Collaborate across Fintech, Global Tax, Legal, and international business teams to build country-specific solutions that scale globally.
* Tackle ambiguity, identify compliance gaps early, and influence the roadmap across adjacent tech teams and partner organizations.
What We’re Looking For:
* Experience designing high-scale distributed systems and backend platforms.
* Passion for solving real-world, high-impact problems at the intersection of tech and compliance.
* Technical depth with the ability to mentor others and lead design reviews.
* Exposure to AI/ML or interest in building Gen AI-enabled systems is a big plus.

- 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
- 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team- 5+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
