SpaceX is hiring a Metal Spinning Technician (CNC Machinist) to perform tasks such as drilling, deburring, and assembling tools for metal parts. This role requires experience in CNC machining and metalworking.
You have a high school diploma or equivalency certificate and at least 1 year of professional work experience in deburring, grinding, or machining metal items. Alternatively, you may hold a degree or certificate from a trade school or work program. You are familiar with large moveable structures and have experience using cranes, forklifts, or jacks. Your knowledge of large machining operations and precision assembly operations is strong, and you understand the importance of close tolerance equipment. Experience with heat treating processes is a plus, as is a keen attention to detail in your work.
As a Metal Spinning Technician at SpaceX, you will be responsible for drilling, reaming, and countersinking full-size holes in parts and assemblies, ensuring that you meet specified dimensional requirements. You will use various tools, including drill motors, bits, reamers, and countersinks, to prepare parts for installation of fasteners and clamps. Your role will also involve deburring holes to achieve a smooth finish and preparing workpieces for machining, spin forming, or heat treating. You will run machinery and equipment to perform these tasks, ensuring that all operations are conducted safely and efficiently.
