The AWS Security Messaging team is seeking a high-judgment, high-performing individual to lead strategic communication initiatives for the largest cloud provider in the world. This role requires a blend of technical knowledge, security fundamentals and public communications experience, as well as stakeholder management and influence skills.
The team is responsible for helping customers stay secure through timely and transparent messaging about security issues. The Security Communications PM owns the communication strategy and lifecycle, drives process improvement, and bolsters the maturity of the program. A successful candidate considers business and brand risk when making recommendations, efficiently produces quality deliverables, proactively removes roadblocks, and gracefully handles competing priorities in a dynamic environment.
This position includes rotating on-call responsibilities.

- 3+ years of product or program management experience
- Experience writing both technical and non-technical documents, with the ability to formulate a clear point of view on complicated issues
- Experience working cross functionally with technical and non-technical teams
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Business, Computer Science or related field, or equivalent professional experience- 3+ years of experience in a role that focuses on IT security and/or cloud technology (e.g. security operations, incident response, program management, public relations)
- Understanding of incident response and information security practices and concepts
- Understanding of technology and ability to communicate complex topics effectively
- Experience using data and metrics to identify and drive improvements
- Familiarity with AWS services (e.g. EC2, S3, GuardDuty, IAM, Lambda, etc)
- Ability to exercise high judgment, particularly in narrow time-frames and when dealing with ambiguity

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $68,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $147,400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
