You are an Engineering Technician with a strong foundation in electrical and mechanical systems, ready to take on the challenge of maintaining mission-critical technology infrastructure. Your hands-on experience with troubleshooting and operating complex systems makes you a critical guardian of the digital world. You have a background in electrical engineering or mechanical engineering, with experience in maintaining and troubleshooting systems such as diesel generators, UPSs, and three-phase electrical systems. Your familiarity with cooling systems, pumps, and motors equips you to handle the challenges that come with data center operations. You are detail-oriented and have a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues before they impact service delivery. Experience with AWS infrastructure services is a plus, as it will enhance your ability to support the global operations of Amazon's data centers. Familiarity with safety protocols and best practices in a technical environment will also be beneficial as you navigate the complexities of maintaining critical systems.
As an Engineering Operations Technician at Amazon, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining the heartbeat of our data centers. Your responsibilities will include operating and troubleshooting electrical and mechanical equipment, ensuring that all systems are functioning optimally. You will be responsible for maintaining stand-by diesel generators and related fuel systems, as well as managing three-phase electrical systems, including switch gear, UPSs, and PDUs. Your expertise will directly contribute to achieving our goal of 99.999% uptime, keeping the digital world running smoothly.
You will work closely with a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, collaborating to solve complex problems and improve operational efficiency. Your role will involve hands-on work, where you will be the first line of defense in identifying and resolving technical issues. You will also participate in routine maintenance and inspections, ensuring that all equipment meets safety and operational standards.
