Staff Software Engineer, Full Stack (AI) Engineering

Who you are

You have 5+ years of experience in software engineering, with a strong focus on both front-end and back-end development. Your expertise spans multiple programming languages, including Java and JavaScript, and you are comfortable working with frameworks such as React and Node.js. You have a solid understanding of cloud services, particularly AWS, and are familiar with containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes. You thrive in collaborative environments and enjoy mentoring junior engineers, sharing your knowledge to help them grow.

You are passionate about building high-performance applications and have experience in developing RESTful APIs. Your background includes working on AI-driven projects, where you have contributed to the design and implementation of intelligent solutions. What you'll do

In this role, you will design, build, and refine front-end interfaces that bring Okta's AI capabilities to life for both employees and customers. You will be responsible for creating high-performance Agentic Experiences (AX) for web and mobile applications, engineered for streaming responses and low latency. Your work will involve championing observability and operational excellence to ensure that our AI services meet enterprise-grade standards for reliability and performance.

You will develop robust backend services that power our AI solutions, including LLM orchestration and RAG. Collaborating closely with your global team, including counterparts in India, you will set technical direction and mentor others, contributing to a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.

You will engage in code reviews, ensuring that best practices are followed and that the codebase remains maintainable and scalable. Your role will also involve participating in architectural discussions, helping to shape the future of our AI-driven products. You will work with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications, ensuring alignment with business goals.
