Job Description

Who you are

You have a solid background in software engineering with experience in building scalable systems — your technical expertise allows you to influence architectural decisions and tackle complex technical challenges. You thrive in collaborative environments, working closely with product managers and engineering leaders to identify customer and business opportunities. Your analytical skills enable you to leverage business and operational metrics to drive informed decisions.

You are proficient in Java and have experience with AWS — your knowledge of cloud services allows you to design and implement robust solutions that meet the needs of a fast-paced business. You understand the importance of delivering high-quality software and are committed to best practices in coding and system design. You are also comfortable navigating the intricacies of financial systems and understand the unique challenges they present.

You possess strong problem-solving skills and can think critically about technical issues — you enjoy diving deep into challenges and finding innovative solutions. Your ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders makes you a valuable team member. You are eager to learn and grow, always looking for ways to enhance your skills and contribute to your team's success.

Desirable

Experience with financial systems or streaming services would be a plus, as would familiarity with agile methodologies. You are open to mentoring junior engineers and sharing your knowledge to help elevate the team's capabilities. A passion for entertainment technology and a desire to shape the future of how customers engage with content will set you apart.

What you'll do

In this role, you will be responsible for influencing the architecture of your team and partner teams — your leadership on complex technical issues will guide the development of strategic projects that enhance the Prime Video experience. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to define the roadmap for technical initiatives, ensuring alignment with business goals and customer needs.

You will engage in hands-on development, writing high-quality code that adheres to best practices — your contributions will directly impact the performance and reliability of Prime Video's financial systems. You will participate in code reviews, providing constructive feedback to peers and continuously improving the team's output.

Your role will involve analyzing business metrics to gain insights that inform technical decisions — you will use data to drive improvements and optimize processes. You will also be involved in troubleshooting and resolving production issues, ensuring that the systems operate smoothly and efficiently.

Collaboration is key in this position — you will work closely with product managers to understand user requirements and translate them into technical specifications. You will also partner with other engineering teams to ensure seamless integration of systems and services, fostering a culture of teamwork and shared success.
