As a natural leader, you thrive in mentoring and guiding teams — you enjoy collaborating with other engineering leaders to set ambitious roadmaps and drive projects from conception to deployment. You understand the intricacies of asynchronous task queues and are adept at improving how they are managed and scheduled.

You possess strong problem-solving skills and can anticipate scaling challenges before they arise — your proactive approach helps your team navigate complex technical issues effectively. You are passionate about building trust with customers through reliable infrastructure and are committed to fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation.

Desirable

Experience with cloud platforms and container orchestration tools is a plus — you are familiar with technologies that enhance the scalability and reliability of distributed systems. What you'll do

In this role, you will lead a team of 5-7 backend engineers, guiding them through all stages of development — from design and implementation to deployment and iteration. You will be responsible for designing and implementing reliable, performant, and scalable distributed systems that back Asana’s web servers and Developer API.

You will collaborate with other engineering leaders to set a compelling roadmap for your team, ensuring that projects align with the overall goals of the organization. Your leadership will be crucial in mentoring team members, helping them grow their skills and advance their careers.

You will also focus on improving and evolving the management of asynchronous task queues, ensuring that they operate efficiently and effectively. Your role will involve leading large projects, coordinating efforts across teams, and ensuring that all stakeholders are aligned on objectives and timelines.
