Berkadia is seeking a Chief Accounting Officer to oversee all accounting and tax functions. You'll manage the corporate accounting team and ensure compliance with professional standards using Workday. This role requires extensive experience in accounting leadership.
You have a strong background in accounting and finance, with at least 10 years of experience in leadership roles. You understand the complexities of corporate accounting and tax functions, and you have a proven track record of managing teams effectively. Your expertise in using financial management systems, particularly Workday, allows you to ensure accuracy and compliance across all accounting practices. You are a strategic thinker who can partner with executive leadership to drive business decisions based on sound financial insights. You thrive in a collaborative environment and are committed to fostering a culture of excellence within your team.
Experience with Big 4 accounting firms is a plus, as is familiarity with the commercial real estate industry. You have a knack for interpreting technical accounting matters and can navigate compliance with federal and state regulations seamlessly. Your communication skills enable you to serve as the principal point of contact with external auditors and stakeholders.
In this role, you will partner closely with the CFO to assess the accounting and tax implications of significant business decisions. You will manage the corporate accounting team, ensuring that all financial reporting is accurate and delivered on time. Your responsibilities will include overseeing the closing process and transaction accounting, as well as ensuring compliance with professional accounting standards. You will also be responsible for the Workday Financial Management system, ensuring its proficiency and efficiency in meeting the needs of Berkadia's entities. As the Chief Accounting Officer, you will lead initiatives to improve accounting processes and drive strategic financial planning.
