Verifone is hiring a Backend Engineer to develop and optimize backend systems for payment processing. You'll work with C++ and C# to ensure the stability and performance of critical payment platforms. This role requires several years of experience in software development.
You have several years of experience in backend software development, particularly in building scalable and high-performance systems. Your expertise in C++ and C# allows you to contribute effectively to the architecture and long-term maintainability of critical payment platforms. You are comfortable analyzing and solving complex technical challenges in distributed systems, including performance bottlenecks and transaction flow inconsistencies. You understand the importance of collaboration and are eager to work with product, architecture, QA, and operations teams to ensure compliance and stability in backend processes.
Experience with Microsoft Foundation Classes (MFC) is a plus, as is familiarity with .NET-based services. You have a proactive approach to modernizing existing components and integrating them into new services. Your analytical skills enable you to tackle intricate technical issues, and you are committed to implementing best practices in software development.
In this role, you will be responsible for the design, development, and maintenance of backend services that handle millions of transactions securely and reliably. You will take ownership of the architecture of business-critical payment platforms, ensuring they are scalable and performant. Your work will involve modernizing existing C++/MFC components and integrating them into new .NET-based services. You will participate in strategic architectural decisions and contribute to the establishment of best practices within the team. Additionally, you will support the rollout of payment services and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful implementation of new features.
